Of all the trends the internet has produced, certainly blogging takes the prize as one of top forms of online communication. But many Moms have found that not only are blogs good for letting others know what's happening in their life but they're a good source of income as well. Just consider the virtues of a blog:
- it takes very little technical know how to setup many of the more popular blogs
- you can be ready to use your new blog in just minutes
- daily maintenance can take as little or as much time as you choose
- there are several ways you can make money from your blogging efforts
Blogs 101
A blog is a simple, easy to update website that looks like an online diary. You can post to a blog as often as you like; newer posts will appear at the top. Your entries can be short or long, but to keep readers interest, shorter posts, entered on a regular basis, are probably best. You can manage the settings of your site to allow visitors to leave comments but keep in mind, spam (unwanted or inappropriate comments) can be a problem unless steps are taken to filter them out.
There are lots of formats you can use to setup your blog, with the most popular free platforms being Blogger.com and Wordpress.com. Whichever service you use, rest assured that along with the installation guides, you can normally access online help in the form of forums, tutorials and even videos to assist in the setup and installation process.
